The Balrog Book Nook brings to life one of the most famous scenes from The Fellowship of the Ring: the confrontation on the bridge of Khazad-dûm in the mines of Moria. While the Fellowship is pursued by the demonic Balrog, Gandalf sacrifices himself to save his friends. He plants his staff on the bridge of Khazad-dûm and shouts the legendary words with vigor, "You shall not pass".

• When the Balrog pounces on him, the bridge slams away from under him and the creature plunges into the depths. But just when the danger seems to have passed, the Balrog grabs Gandalf with his whip and drags him into the abyss.
